As anyone close to the project knows, it took a village to build the Liberty Bank Building. The advisory board, the community partner organizations, the architect, general contractor and subcontractors, the art curators and artists, the funders and donors, and too many more to list here – all helped ensure that the Liberty Bank Building would stand as a living cultural monument for the Central District community and a place to call home.

Today, we invite you to become part of that village by becoming a Friend of the Liberty Bank Building. By contributing to the Liberty Bank Building, you can show your support for the project vision of community empowerment and help us ensure the success of this incredible collaborative effort. If you make your gift by April 1, 2019, your name will go on a “Friends of the Liberty Bank Building” wall permanently installed inside the building’s lobby!

Your contribution to Liberty Bank Building will be facilitated by Rise Together, a collaborative capital campaign uniting Africatown Community Land TrustByrd Barr PlaceCapitol Hill Housing, Southwest Youth & Family Services, and White Center Community Development Association around a vision of equitable and inclusive development in the Central District, Capitol Hill and White Center.

The Liberty Bank Building is the first Rise Together building to be completed, and your gift will give the larger campaign a turbo-boost of grassroots support as we look to the next phases of the campaign. Future projects include new mixed-use, community-driven affordable housing developments in the Central District, Capitol Hill and White Center as well as the renovation of critical service space in the CD and more.
